Lemon Grass
Lemon Grass
Adventurous cooks, folks who love to try new recipes and ethnic cuisines, are now growing all sorts of fun herbs and lemon grass is a popular new one. Used widely in Caribbean and Asia dishes, especially Thai curries, the clean citrus flavor of lemon grass mixes well with garlic, cilantro and chilies. Both the stalks and the blades are used in cooking and cut stalks may be frozen or kept in the refrigerator for up to 3 weeks. Finding lemon grass plants is difficult and we're delighted to be able to offer these. This tender perennial is winter hardy in zones 9-11 and provides a dual function as an attractive, fragrant, reed-like landscape element. In colder climates plant lemon grass in a pot in and brought inside to over winter.
