Rain lilies, so named because of their tendency to burst into bloom after a rain, are originally from Mexico, Guatemala and the grassy plains of South America. These clump-forming perennials start small, but when left in undisturbed will develop over several seasons into truly impressive sights.
Among the easiest of bulbs to grow, rain lilies blend beautifully into perennial beds, herb gardens and containers. Poke these little bulbs in here and there; then forget them. One day this summer you'll glance at your garden and there they'll be, blooming away.
Lovely starry blossoms, easy care, tough constitutions and inexpensive - rain lilies are hard not to love.
