Here's another handsome South African bulb, a not so distant relative of freesia. Like freesia, tritonia's many blooms cluster along slender, graceful stems, and are exceptionally well suited for gathering into informal bouquets.
Potted tritonia is an excellent choice for porches, patios, along pool edges or on a series of steps. Choose one color for all the pots or mix them up.
Tritonia is also indispensable for sunny borders and rocks gardens where its height is ideal for mid-ground positions. This undemanding plant will be happy most anywhere you tuck it, just provide lots of sunshine.
Based on personal experience, we suggest planting extra tritonia for cutting. Otherwise, the pots will begin to look a little thin when you begin snipping stems for long lasting arrangements.
