Originating in the meadows and woodlands in Europe, Africa and Asia, scillas are intriguing landscape elements prized for their bell- and star-shaped flowers in many shades of blue. They are excellent partners for yellow or white daffodils, anemones and other spring bloomers.
The smaller varieties naturalize readily where happy, while the larger ones form sizeable clumps, making them all good garden investments. As an added benefit, these plants are disliked by deer and rodents which just makes growing them effortlessly all that much easier. |
