Great Garden Plant Too

I never liked to be "forced" to do anything, so forcing a flower isn't my style, but I used Nir in my garden last year in the center of pots filled with tulips and/or strawberries. They came up early, were larger than expected, and had a wonderful fragrance. I pulled them just after blooms faded, to let them live in a raised bed in my cutting garden, until they could regenerate their bulb for this year. I replanted the center of the pots to keep them looking fresh. I stored the bulbs in a dark, dry place and am ready to replant them this week. I think the thing that impressed me the most was how big the bulbs were at the end of their growing phase, when their leaves had died back. Because we have few days of freezing temperatures each year, this bulb may naturalize well in our climate, so I'm also going to plant a few in the ground as a test. I'm really happy that these are available again.

Holiday Bloomer

Got these last year to force inside my house for the holiday season. I planted them mid November and had several blooming just after Christmas! Hoping to time it a bit better this year, but these were very easy to force, looked great and smelled great!
