Rain Lily Manning's Hybrid (Zephyranthes) Rain lilies show up unexpectedly and that's much of their charm. A summer shower one day and then, in a blink, the forgotten patch from last year is in full bloom. Here's a hybrid of the classic pink robusta variety, a giant (relatively speaking) that grows a foot tall, displays blooms 3-4" across and naturalizes into clumps 16" across. Hard to find, and expensive, these pink giants come to us from a nursery friend who cuts us a deal we're happy to pass along. Plant with tips of bulb just above the soil, under spring blooming perennials and deciduous trees.
