Calochortus Symphony Calochortus are some of the best plants for water wise gardens. This variety, Symphony, delivers lovely blooms in late spring with creamy petals edged in violet and accented by a mahogany crimson blotch at the center. The violet coloring is most pronounced when blossoms first open and softens as the flowers age. Symphony grows 12-18" tall, a good size for midground placement in mixed beds. Plant in well drained soil where there's moisture in the late winter and spring but dryness in the summer and these plants will be happy. Calochortus Symphony is well suited, and unusual, for use in arrangements, where its wiry stems slip easily between others and where the blooms last for a week or more.
